We are pleased to announce the publication of the whitepaper titled “Sustainability of 6G: Ways to Reduce Energy Consumption”, in which Professor Carlos J. Bernardos, coordinator of the 6G-DATADRIVEN project, has participated as co-editor. This document, developed by the 6G IA Vision Working Group, addresses one of the most important challenges for the next generation of mobile technologies: the operational sustainability of 6G.
The whitepaper identifies the main challenges in terms of energy consumption, contrasting the industry’s consensus vision of 6G in Europe with the expected evolution of services and the mobile ecosystem, drawing on the lessons learned from 5G.
